Just had my interview with an admissions team member and current student. Indeed very friendly atmosphere, and great experience ! I feel i could have done better in a couple of questions, and especially in a business case where i had a small brain freeze  which is double shame for me since i am an entrepeneur, but we are all humans after all 

Although i cannot disclose the exact questions, my general advice would be the following: be prepared for non-standard questions, think outside the box, think big picture. I am not an admissions expert, but in my opinion the school is really trying to weave its innovative spirit into the interview approach, and allows candidates to show their creative thinking and their personality. i also asked three questions and the answeres were very detailed. Decisions will be released on Dec, 8.

My interview was over Skype and pretty similar. The atmosphere was really friendly and my interviewers were relaxed, I didn’t feel any pressure or tense moments at all, quite the opposite in fact !

My advice would be to do mock interviews with a friend before to practice and to be prepared as much as you can. Once it start, just be yourself and don’t overthink the questions. Even if you are surprised by the question, you still have some time to think about your answers. Overall, I felt like the settings of the interview was positive and that the interviewers made me feel confortable during the interview process.

Congrats to everyone who received an invite !

Skype vs in-person interview should be the same mostly, mine was on skype and there was 1 adcom person and 1 first-year student. If your in-person interview is not in the US there will most likely be only adcom people but if you have the opportunity, I think you should opt for the in-person one.

Mine lasted around 45 mins, a few generic questions and some behavioral questions if I remember correctly. There was also a small case with 3-4 questions but it’s not complicated. Finally I had 5-10 mins to ask questions myself. You should skim the previous years’ discussions on this forum to see if there’s more details about the interview but overall I felt it was a standard interview.

Arizona WP Carey MBA Interview Questions – 4

Some users have posted their interview experiences in the thread earlier. I would suggest you to understand how Carey can help you specifically and focus on behavioural questions and instances from your experience that show major traits that schools look out for such as leadership, teamwork, failure etc. It is a relaxed interview if you keep control of your nerves. The trick is to know what exactly they are asking in the long worded questions.

Also, they give a small case question in the end that is totally random and you just have to walk them through your thought process while trying to solve it. Cliched but “there is no right or wrong answer”. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hey Guys, these were the questions I got (as a part of round 4 Video interview on the KIRA platform- I’m an international applicant) :
1. Tell me something about yourself that wasn’t covered in the essay questions and you would like the admission committee to know.

3. Written question : What are the steps you have taken to ensure that you are prepared for an MBA?

There are 3 questions. Two one minute video responses (how do you choose a team and out of office achievement) and one four minute written response (what are you doing to get accustomed to a new culture or environment).

Just be cool and attend this video thing. Nothing new they are asking. Absolutely no need of preparation. I am 100% sure they are not interested in content, all they can assess from these two one minute videos and one 4 minute written response is 1) make a broad impression from our body language and delivery 2) Check if we indeed wrote those essays! 
The practice offered by Kira is cool and exactly same as the actual recording. So, ATB for all those Video interview ppl

I had my interview on 22nd OCT. It lasted 1 hr for me. The interview was pretty good. To me common questions like Why ASU? Why MBA? Why Now? were NOT asked. They were just asking questions related to my professional experience.

As others have also pointed out, there were no usual MBA interview questions like why MBA probably because they have read your profile and essays. The questions were related to my professional experience. There was an adcom member and a second year student and the interview lasted for 50 minutes. Neither I am too satisfied nor too unsatisfied so not sure what to expect…Keeping fingers crossed for now !

I had my interview yesterday. basic questions. why mba, what specialization and why, examples of collaboration and reaction to changes, example of innovative idea, what other colleges i’m applying to..etc..nothing out of the ordinary…lasted around 50 minutes…

Arizona WP Carey MBA Interview Questions – 10

I had my interview yesterday with an adcom member and a 2nd year student. It was a fairly relaxed interview, which lasted around 50 minutes. They asked me usual questions like why MBA, why Carey, other schools I am applying to, some behavioral questions – reaction to change, conflict etc. I was also given a brief case study to solve.

Overall a very good experience. Fingers crossed!
